Phosphor Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin to which phosphorus is added to completely rid the alloy of oxides. When rolled 8# hard it is tough and strong and possesses great resistance to fatigue and corrosion.

Common fabrication processes for C51000 phosphor bronze are blanking, drawing, forming and bending, heading and upsetting, shearing, and stamping. C51000 phosphor bronze is excellent for soldering or brazing and has a machinability rating of 20. Diaphragms, switch parts and electrical contacts are some of its typical applications. C51000 phosphor bronze is available in strip, wire, rod, shapes, and tube product forms.
