Tin Bronze Wire is a standard commercial grade extensively used by industry in all tempers but principally in the harder cold rolled tempers. It consists essentially of copper, alloyed with tin (copper 95% - tin 5%) which has been deoxidized with phosphorus. Classified by the Copper and Brass Research Association, now the Copper Development Association, as "Copper Alloy No. 510 (Phosphor Bronze, 5% A)." It has excellent resistance to corrosion and fatigue, wear and chemicals. It possesses good electrical conductivity, excellent toughness, and fine grain structure and develops high tensile strength. Tin Bronze Wire is not heat-treatable for hardening purposes.
