Zambian Minister of Mines expects copper output to exceed 1 million tons in 2018

The Zambian Minister of Mines revised Zambia’s copper production in 2017 from 787,000 tons to 800,000 tons, and it is expected that copper production will exceed 1 million tons in 2018.

In 2016, Zambia produced 774,290 tons of copper. After the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, the second largest copper producer in Africa, will produce 1.5 million tons of copper in 2019.
