The status of the copper industry
The content of copper in the earth's crust is about 0.01%, and it can reach 3%-5% in individual copper deposits. Copper in nature is mostly copper ore, which is mainly distributed in North America, Latin America and Central Africa.
In 2014, the U.S. Geological Survey conducted an assessment of the global copper deposit, saying that the amount of copper contained in proven copper resources was about 2.1 billion tons, and the resources to be explored were expected to contain 3.5 billion tons of copper.
Data from the U.S. Bureau of Resources and Natural Resources Survey 2015 shows that total global copper reserves total 700 million tons, including 209 million tons in Chile, 93 million tons in Australia, 648 million tons in Peru, 355 million tons in the United States, 38 million tons in Mexico, 30 million tons in China, Russia 0.3 billion tons, Indonesia 25 million tons, Poland 26 million tons, Zambia 20 million tons, Congo (Kinshasa) 0.2 billion tons, Canada 0.11 million tons, Kazakhstan 0.06 million tons, and other countries 90 million tons.
