The Los Pelambres mine expansion plan EIA of Antofagasta was approved

On February 14, the regional government in Coquimbo, Chile, said the cosponsored $ 1.1 billion expansion plan at Los Pelambres, the Chilean-based maker Antofagasta, has been approved by the local environmental regulator.

The project is the mine's third phase of infrastructure upgrades, the purpose of which is to seek to eat 该 该 copper ore output in the vicinity of 400,000 tons per year.

The company said the project also includes the construction of a desalination plant near Los Vilos harbor and the construction of a new ore dressing plant and other infrastructure for the mine.
