Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (NYSE:FCX) was founded in 1987 by Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (NYSE: FCX). Freeport McMoran Inc. (NYSE: FCX) was founded in 1987. In 2011, the predecessor of the company was Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., which was changed to its current name in July 2014. It is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, and employs 30,000 full-time employees. It is a company engaged in the acquisition and mining of mineral assets. Copper, gold, molybdenum, cobalt, silver and other metals are the largest copper and molybdenum producers in the world and one of the largest gold mining companies in the world.

Freeport’s copper production in the first quarter of 2017 was 386,000 tons, down 22% year-on-year. Excluding the impact of the sale of the Tenke Copper Mine (Tenke was acquired by the Luoyang Molybdenum Industry, the output already belongs to the Luoyang Molybdenum Industry), which fell by 11% year-on-year. The major reduction is reflected in the Grasberg copper mine in Indonesia, and its production of Peru's copper mine Cerro Verde has also declined.
